Anupamaa 31 August 2026 Written Update: Prem Accepts His Mistakes as Shruti Reconsiders Anuj’s Café

The 31 August 2026 episode of Anupamaa focuses on Prem coming to terms with his defeat against Anupama and accepting the mistakes he made during the cooking competition. At the Shah house, the prize money creates a fresh dispute, while Shruti remains upset about the finale and considers taking action over the result.

The episode begins with Prem remembering the challenge he had given Anupama before the finale. After losing the competition, he struggles to accept the result, but his alter ego forces him to look at his own behaviour and understand that Anupama was never his real enemy.

Prem gradually accepts that his ego affected his judgment. Rahi stays with him as he deals with the defeat, while Khyati helps him understand that accepting his mistake is also an important form of victory.

Prem Understands His Mistakes

Prem watches Anupama’s interview and is surprised to hear her praise him despite their rivalry in the competition. The interview makes him question what he had been told about Anupama’s attitude towards him.

Gautam had told Prem that Anupama spoke negatively about him, but her interview shows that she respected his talent. Prem begins to understand that he had allowed the competition to become personal.

Prem then apologizes to Rahi. He had earlier forced her into a difficult position by asking her to choose between him and Anupama, but he now understands that it was unfair to put her in that situation.

Rahi responds by expressing her love for Prem. Vasundhara, Rahi and Khyati support him as he accepts responsibility for his actions.

Prem Apologizes to Shruti

Prem also decides to apologize to Shruti. He accepts that she trusted him and that he did not always treat her with the respect she deserved.

Prem acknowledges Shruti’s contribution and tells her that he will accept whatever decision she makes about Anuj’s café. He does not want to pressure her into doing something against her wishes.

Vasundhara decides to return the money that Shruti had invested in the café. Prem, however, refuses to depend on her financial support and says that he wants to establish himself through his own efforts.

Shruti remains deeply upset over the outcome of the cooking competition. She believes that Anupama influenced the judges and considers taking legal action against the makers over the decision.

Rakshabandhan Preparations Begin

Meanwhile, the Shah family starts discussing Rakshabandhan. Anupama recalls Leela’s brother and talks about the traditions connected with the festival.

Banku remembers celebrating Rakshabandhan with his sister during childhood. Jaya then asks him for money to buy a lollipop, while Digvijay asks Jaya whether she will tie a rakhi to him.

Jaya reveals that she has already prepared a rakhi for Digvijay because Anupama asked her to make one. The family then begins discussing which relatives will be able to attend the celebration.

Prerna tells Ishani that Ansh may not be able to come because he is stuck elsewhere. Anupama explains that modern technology allows families to stay connected even when they are physically apart.

Kinjal asks whether Bhavesh will attend the celebration. Anupama says that Bhavesh does not miss Rakshabandhan, while Leela doubts that Bailu will travel because of his age.

Prize Money Becomes a Family Issue

The discussion at the Shah house soon turns towards Anupama’s prize money. Paritosh demands his share, while Mahi reminds everyone that Anupama had promised her a share because of her contribution to the team.

Pakhi and Paritosh oppose Mahi’s claim. Their argument becomes heated, and Mahi refuses to accept their accusations against her.

Leela also asks for her share. Paritosh later turns his attention towards Kinjal’s share, but Kinjal makes it clear that she can speak for herself.

Ishani also refuses to take the money. Banku tries to stop the argument by reminding everyone that Rakshabandhan is approaching and that the family should not fight over money at such a time.

Pakhi and Paritosh object to Banku giving them instructions because of his position in the household. Anupama is left disturbed by the way the family members are behaving over the prize money.

Prerna Remembers Ansh

Prerna continues to miss Ansh during the Rakshabandhan preparations. Anupama notices her sadness and gives her a Banarasi brocade fabric sari.

Anupama also explains the importance of traditional Indian craftsmanship and the recognition provided to regional products through Geographical Indication tags. The conversation brings attention to the artisans and traditional skills associated with such fabrics.

Shruti’s Next Decision

By the end of the episode, Prem has accepted his defeat and apologized to both Rahi and Shruti. His change in attitude removes some of the tension that had developed around the competition.
