Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 31 August 2026 Written Update: Vidya Agrees to Medical Check-Up as Abhira Notices Myra’s Change
The 31 August 2026 episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai moves forward with two important tracks as Vidya finally agrees to seek medical advice for the lump on her arm, while Abhira begins noticing changes in Myra’s behaviour. Myra’s growing friendship with Kabir also becomes harder to keep away from the family.
The episode begins with Myra eating the cake that Kabir had sent for her. She believes that Abhira has allowed her to have it and finishes the cake before throwing the bill into the dustbin.
Abhira questions Myra about Aafat and asks her to explain what happened. Before Myra can say much, Armaan arrives, leaving her worried that her secret about Kabir could come out.
Armaan then eats some of the cake, and other members of the Poddar family also help themselves to it. Myra later asks Abhira what happened, and Abhira tells her not to worry because everyone needs a moment to enjoy themselves.
Myra makes it clear that she does not want to hide anything about her friend Kabir. Armaan asks her to thank Kabir for sending the cake.
Meanwhile, Samar continues thinking about Barkha. Nandani asks him whether Neena will attend the celebration, but Samar reveals that Neena has refused.
Nandani suggests that Samar could consider getting married again. Samar rejects the idea, but Nandani points out that marriage could help him in his efforts to seek custody of Barkha.
Vidya’s health becomes the main concern at the Poddar house. Abhira tells Armaan that she has taken an appointment with an oncologist for Vidya and wants her to get the lump examined.
Armaan decides that Vidya must see the doctor. Vidya, however, says that she wants to go to her parents’ house instead and insists that there is nothing wrong with her.
Armaan refuses to allow Vidya to leave without first consulting the doctor. Madhav also becomes suspicious and asks Vidya what is happening, but she avoids answering their questions.
The news about Vidya’s health begins spreading through the family. Manisha informs Manoj about the tumour, while Abhira also tells Myra about Vidya’s condition.
Kaveri tells Kajal about the situation, and Sanjay directly asks Vidya whether she has breast cancer. Vidya becomes uncomfortable as more family members question her about the possibility.
Despite repeated requests, Vidya continues refusing to see a doctor. Armaan remains concerned and asks Abhira to continue trying to convince her.
Vidya later decides to leave secretly. While she is outside, she encounters women who question her about her situation and make her think about the way women often ignore their own health while looking after their families.
Abhira and Armaan then decide to put up an act in front of Vidya. Their conversation makes Vidya understand that avoiding the problem will not make her fear disappear.
Vidya finally agrees that she should visit the doctor. The Poddar family supports her as they wait to learn what the medical examination will reveal.
Back at home, Abhira starts coughing and Kaveri gives her medicine. Armaan makes sure that Abhira drinks water while he continues worrying about Vidya’s medical report.
Kaveri asks Abhira and Armaan to attend the Janmashtami celebration at the Damani house. Armaan hesitates because he is worried about Vidya and wonders what will happen if her report arrives while they are away.
Kaveri assures Armaan that the family will stay with Vidya and asks the couple to attend the celebration and bring blessings for her.
At the Damani house, preparations for Janmashtami are underway. Bhairavi fixes Kabir’s hair while Kabir keeps checking the door, making it clear that he is waiting for someone.
When Bhairavi asks whether Kabir is expecting a guest, he avoids giving her a clear answer. The lights then begin to flicker, creating another problem during the celebrations.
A guest taunts Nandani for not checking the lights despite the elaborate decorations. Nandani asks Raghav and Kabir to look into the issue.
Abhira, Armaan and Myra eventually arrive at the Damani house. The lights brighten as they enter, and Kabir notices Myra dressed in traditional clothes.
Kabir laughs when he sees Myra in her traditional outfit. His reaction draws attention to the growing connection between the two, although neither of them openly discusses their relationship.
Meanwhile, Kaveri and Krish take part in an arm-wrestling match. Vidya supports Krish along with Sanjay, while Kajal confidently backs Kaveri.
Kaveri eventually wins the contest. The celebrations continue as Samar asks Abhira to host the event, leaving her surprised by the request.
