Sooraj R Barjatya (Maine Pyar Kiya) (1989)
His directorial debut movie was Maine Pyar Kiya and it was the biggest hit of that year, Sooraj Barjatya belongs to the great Barjatya family and their Rajshri Production making films from 1947.
Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya did Hum Aapke Hain Kaun after Maine Pyar Kiya and that is also one of the most successful films in Bollywood.

Aditya Chopra is continuing the empire of his father Yash Chopra. His some other successful films are Mohabbatein, Rab Ne Bana di Jodi, etc.
Karan Johar (Kuch Kuch Hota hai) (1998)
This Hindi romantic comedy-drama film is the directorial debut of Karan Johar starring the most-popular on-screen pair of Kajol with Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherji in supporting role.
This movie was extremely successful worldwide and was even the highest-grossing film of the year 1998. The story revolves around a love triangle between three friends, insensitive guy, tomboy, and a pretty girl.
This movie attracted most of the Indian youth because it was based on the theme of parental loyalties as well as personal desires.
Farhan Akhtar (Dil Chahta Hai) (2001)
Dil Chahta Hai is an Indian comedy-drama, film and directorial debut of Farhan Akhtar. This movie stars Aamir Khan opposite Preity Zinta, Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sonali Kulkarni, and Akshaye Khanna.
The story is set in the modern-day urban life of people in Mumbai and majorly focuses on the transition in the lives of three friends. It received numerous awards and was a moderate commercial success. This movie portrayed the contemporary Indian youth as urban and cosmopolitan.
Rajkumar Hirani (Munna Bhai MBBS) (2003)
It is an Indian comedy film by Rajkumar Hirani starring Sanjay Dutt opposite Gracy Singh along with Jimmy Shergill, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani, and Sunil Dutt.
The story revolves around Munna Bhai played by Sanjay Dutt going to a medical school and helped by his sidekick, Circuit played by Arshad Warsi. This movie received several awards, including Filmfare Awards and was declared “HIT” at the box office.
This was the first film of real-life father-son playing and sharing scenes together.
Aamir Khan (Tare Zameen Par) (2007)
This movie is a successful directorial debut by Aamir Khan. The film revolves around the imaginations of an 8-year old kid, Ishaan played by Darsheel Safary.
He has been portrayed as a kid who excels in art, but because of his poor academic performance, his parents send him to boarding school. There he meets his teacher, Nikunj (Aamir Khan) who suspects and helps him to overcome his disability.
This movie received numerous awards and several positive reviews by the critics. This movie is a work of art which touches the viewers’ hearts and moves them deeply with mind-blowing performances.
Prabhu Deva (Wanted) (2009)
Wanted is a crime thriller directorial debut film by Prabhu Deva in Bollywood starring Salman Khan opposite Ayesha Takia along with Mahesh Manjrekar, Prakash Raj and Vinod Khanna. This movie is a remake of Pokiri, Telegu film.
It broke many records after its release and it’s all because of the comeback of our Sallu Bhai. In 2009, it was the 2nd highest-grossing film. The story revolves around a hardcore gangster who falls in love with an attractive simple fitness trainer.
But soon the track develops into an assassination and action takes place. The movie received positive reviews only because of the star power of Salman Khan.
Abhinav Kashyap (Dabangg) (2010)
The directorial debut of Abhinav Kashyap is a debut film of Sonakshi Sinha is starring opposite to Salman Khan and featuring Arbaaz Khan, Vinod Khanna, Mahie Gill, Dimple Kapadia, Anupam Kher and Mahesh Manjrekar in supporting roles and the antagonist played by Sonu Sood.
It was a debut by Arbaaz Khan as a producer too. The whole story revolves around a cop of Uttar Pradesh, Chulbul Pandey but was shot in Wai, a town in Maharashtra. The movie received positive reviews, especially for the performance of Sonakshi Sinha as a debut lead actress and Salman Khan.
It received a strong opening at the multiplexes and broke the records at the box office.

Sajid Nadiadwala (Kick) (2014)
This movie is a remake of a 2009 Telugu movie with the same name. It is a directorial debut of Sajid Nadiadwala starring Salman Khan opposite Jacqueline Fernandez along with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Randeep Hooda in supporting roles.
This movie received mixed reviews but performed really well breaking all the records at the box office. Few critics called it a “downright stupid” some called it an “idiotic film”, some called “brainless romp” and some called it “masala movie.” After the first week of its release, it was declared to be a “Blockbuster.”
