Rock On 2 is a musical drama film and the Sequel to superhit Film Rock On. The film is directed by Shujaat Saudagar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
The film features Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli in the lead roles and Music is given by Shankar Ehsan Loy. Rock on 2 is made under Excel Entertainment banner and distributed by Eros.
What I felt about Rock On 2
Rock on was a superhit musical film of 2008 and Magik is back with Rock On 2 this time. Rock on 2 shares things about many segments related to music, it shows the fight between classical and today’s fusion music, it also shares how artists these days changing their way of singing according to the audience just to stay in the market.
The first half of the film was slow and the story picks up the pace in the second half when the things get clear about the past of Magik.
If you are a musician, you can easily relate to the film and “Rock on 2” is not only about Music. it’s about the life of musicians.
The comparison is not the right word for the sequel, rock on 2 is a sequel with a different story and it shares the life of characters after the first film. We can compare a remake, not a sequel.
Rock On 2 is a musical drama film and you can enjoy if you like the musical genre. We have a great history of movies based on Music and Musicians.
Multitalented Farhan Akhtar again showed his talent in Acting and Singing. Shraddha Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar both sung their songs in the film and that make this film more real.
Shraddha Kapoor(as Jiah Sharma) is a likable actress but it’s proved she is a good singer too.
Kumud Mishra’s screen time was limited but we all know about his acting skills, He was perfect with his short role in the film as Jiah’s Father.
Shashank Arora as (Uday a Sarod player) is perfect and He is getting better with every film.
KD (Purab Kohli) narrated the whole film and Arjun Rampal is accurate to the character of Joe Mascarenas.
Prachi Desai’s role is short but important for the story. You will see many guest appearance in the film like Rob from Rock on (Luke Kenny), Usha Uthup, Vishal Dadlani.
Film could have been better, but it was a good watch.
Story of Rock On 2
we never share the complete story of the film, but the film is about the reunion of the band and you will see some new members too.
Verdict
Rock On 2 is a good watch for this weekend and you can enjoy the film with your friends and family.
Due to currency issue, it may get less audience but it will recover soon.
