Lata Mangeshkar The Nightingale of India is world famous Indian playback singer, she started her career in 1942 and in 1974 Guinness Book of Record listed Lata Mangeshkar as the most recorded artist in the history of Playback Singing.
According to their sources, She had recorded 25,000 solo, duet, and Chorus songs in 20 different Indian languages, in between 1948 to 1974.
Figures were exaggerated, but she certainly recorded a huge number of songs in her career. She has been awarded the highest civilian award, The Bharat Ratna.
In 2011 Guinness credited Asha Bhosle as the most recorded artist for approx 11,000 songs.
