Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 29 August 2026 Written Update: Armaan and Raghav’s Saree Mix-Up Raises Concern Over Vidya’s Health
The 29 August 2026 episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai follows the Poddar family’s Janmashtami preparations as Armaan and Raghav accidentally exchange the sarees they have chosen for Abhira and Nandani. The festive mood changes when Abhira notices that Vidya is in pain and the family becomes concerned about a lump on her arm.
The episode begins with Raghav and Nandani practising their dance for the upcoming Janmashtami celebration. Their rehearsal does not go smoothly, as they repeatedly miss their steps. Kabir watches Nandani and takes her pictures while Maira helps Abhira and Armaan with their dance practice.
Maira asks Abhira and Armaan to put more energy into their performance. Vidya also points out that they are not giving enough effort. After several rounds of practice, everyone becomes tired.
Sanjay then reminds Abhira that she has an important conference call with a client. Abhira prepares to leave, and Armaan decides to accompany her. Maira asks Kaveri to stop them because their dance practice is still incomplete.
Kaveri changes the subject by asking Abhira what she plans to wear for Janmashtami. Abhira says she will buy something from the mall, but Armaan says he will choose a saree for her.
Kaveri questions whether Armaan knows what kind of saree would suit Abhira. Abhira says she trusts Armaan’s choice and will be happy with whatever he brings for her.
Meanwhile, Samar invites Neena and Barkha to the Janmashtami celebration. He explains that the celebration is important because the family is also planning a product launch. Neena refuses the invitation and says Barkha will not attend.
Samar argues that Barkha should not be kept away from his family. Neena blames Samar’s anger issues for the breakdown of their relationship and remains unwilling to change her decision. Manoj overhears their conversation and becomes curious about the situation.
Elsewhere, Kabir tells Nandani that Raghav has gone shopping to buy her a saree. Nandani becomes anxious because Raghav has never selected a saree for her before. She wonders whether he will understand her choice.
Armaan and Raghav soon arrive at the same saree shop. Both men want to select the best saree for their wives, and they begin comparing different designs.
Armaan chooses a pink saree for Abhira, while Raghav selects a green saree for Nandani. Armaan asks Raghav whether he is certain about his choice, while Raghav remains confident that he knows what Nandani likes.
Back at home, Maira tells Abhira about a college event where students have to represent traditional clothing from different Indian states. Abhira suggests Punjab and explains the significance of Phulkari embroidery.
Maira asks about the GI tag associated with Phulkari. Abhira explains that a Geographical Indication identifies products connected to a particular region and recognises their distinctive traditional qualities.
The saree mix-up is discovered after Armaan and Raghav return home. The sarees have accidentally been exchanged, leaving Abhira with the green saree selected by Raghav and Nandani with the pink saree chosen by Armaan.
Nandani likes the saree she receives, but Abhira does not like the green colour. She nevertheless decides not to tell Armaan because she sees how happy he is about the saree he selected for her.
Abhira becomes emotional when she also struggles to find jewellery that matches the saree. Manisha asks why she does not simply tell Armaan that she does not like it. Abhira remains concerned that doing so could hurt his feelings.
Raghav also realises that Nandani has received the saree selected by Armaan. Kabir learns about the exchange, while Maira understands that the wrong saree has reached both women.
Armaan and Raghav each try to contact the other to resolve the mistake, but their calls do not connect. Both begin to believe that the other has ignored or blocked the call, adding to the misunderstanding.
Kabir tries to arrange another identical saree so that the original sarees can be returned without creating a problem. He contacts the shop, but the pink saree selected by Armaan is no longer available.
As the family continues preparing for Janmashtami, Abhira asks Kaveri, Manisha and Vidya for help with her jewellery. Vidya starts experiencing pain in her arm while taking out the jewellery.
Abhira immediately notices Vidya’s discomfort and asks whether something is wrong. Kaveri and Manisha also examine the affected area and become concerned when they notice what appears to be a lump.
Vidya tries to dismiss the issue and says she is fine. The family asks her to see a doctor, but she refuses to seek medical attention.
Vidya says she does not want to become frightened by a possibility without knowing whether anything is actually wrong. Abhira remains concerned and questions why Vidya is so reluctant to get the problem checked.
Abhira then asks Vidya whether she is avoiding the doctor because she is afraid that the lump could be a tumour. Armaan overhears the conversation and is shocked by what he learns about Vidya’s health concern.
